  • Sweep mounting brackets.

Which mounting bracket is best? The steel bracket or the one that uses a slide bar. Have had no experience with the steel bracket, although it looks like a better set up.

We have switched away from sliders to the one piece brackets, seems to have helped with deadwood...I like it because of less parts.

The 090 bracket is the best.

You'll never have the collapsed slot problem, and they're cheaper to replace. They also have slotted holes in the front to fine-tune the positioning of the bar in the gutters.

Careful: there are two versions of the 090 brackets. One is for the 82-70 and early 82-90 aluminum-link sweeps, plus the mid-90's plastic-link sweeps. The other is for the steel-link sweeps (90XL, also adaptable to earlier machines).

The difference is that the XL type are flat on the side, not jogged. You can't interchange them.

                Re: Sweep mounting brackets.

We use the ones that have the slide bar, and we're constantly changing cracked or worn slide bars, so the "090" mounting bracket sounds like a good idea....

Does anyone have a photo or something they can post so we can check them out??

it works well and tends not to ride over pins in the gutter, it stops the sweep dragging on the pindeck because it is one piece , bends , but that is no problem , if it is checked out after a sweep hit.It can be fitted on 70s and is not so heavy , therefore less strain on the motor.
