  • Wooden Plamk fix

If the bottom ledge wears on the 7, 10 side of the plank or is just screwed up in general, take a hammer and 1" wood chisel and carefully separate it from the plank. Sand it smooth.

Take a 4' piece of approach and lane patch (maple), rip it in half with a table saw. We just leave the tongue and groove on it. Glue it to the plank and let it set overnight. We use Elmer's wood glue and about 6 clamps for this job.
From the back of the plank drill 1/8" pilot holes for the rivets and bolts.

From front of plank, bevel the rivet holes, drill the special washer holes with a 1 1/4" wood bit. From the back side, drill the rivet holes with a 7/16" bit and 3/8" bit for bolts. This fix has saved us lots of money over the years.

Looks like good workmanship. My problem is that I can ruin a piece of wood simply by looking at it...lol

      nice tip!!

Nice job. If you can buy some six-quarter slabs of hard wood, set the blade for 9/16 and rip away.
