  • Sweet Solid State

Alright , here we go......I have a Solid State Chassis that lost its 1st, 2nd, strike, and foul pindication.

There is a thermal overload switch located under the T-1 transformer that is making a buzz/clicking noise every 20 seconds. I tried bypassing the thermal overload switch, nothing. I pulled out the Omega-Tek board and doesnt help.

I remember seeing this happen many years ago, but I dont recall what fixed the problem.

    Thank you for the help.

    Re: Sweet Solid State

When we get this its almost always a broken support for the T1 transformer and it's hanging and grounding out the heatsink causing what you describe. Even if the bracket is ok it still can sag some, so check that out. If this isn't the problem checkout the heat sink itself and make sure a screw or nut isn't down in there grounding out
All I want in life is to turn wrenches and climb around pinsetters/pinspotters again :/

      Re: Sweet Solid State

Rep has it. Also it won't hurt to take the thermal overload off & give it an eyeball. Sometimes they can start to fail (burnt up) and cause a similer problem.
I've had enough of hope & chains.

Thanks you Rep and WB8yjf, you guys nailed it. I was pulling out heat sink and a metal rivet fell out of it. Thanks again.
