• Ghost scores?

I have a problem with a lane who will for no reason at all register points on the screen (scoreboard). I am not sure if the machine will cycle at the same time. In other words, no ball is thrown and scores are still beeing registered. I have a 82-70 with mp chassis and qubica automatic scoring.

if you have a scoring camera. maybe you need to tweak it a lil.

I would think that the machine is cycling when you get these phantom scores. Not for sure though.

      A couple of thoughts:

I would make sure your IR sensors are clean…adjusted…hand have good connection to the camera board.

Maybe it could be something like a relay in your Six-box (or F-box) might be sticking.

Last but not least…Check your communication cable under ground that it has not had balls rubbing them. Look very carefully around the camera, since this is usually the area that is most vulnerable.

its either the scoring camera or dependiong on how old your equipment is it may be the sweep switch on the sweep arm

Does Qubika use a start switch on the machine like Accu+, etc? OR do you have triggers installed (that interface to the scoring)? Sounds like the scoring is getting some sort of false trigger, maybe a coasting sweep (hiccuping sweep)??

              Re: Ghost scores?

Qubica triggers via IR beams... the IR units are located at the scoring camera housing, and there are 2 sets of them. They need to work in concert for the system to operate correctly.

I would say that the machine is probably cycling, since the 'Cycle' signal is sent just before the 'Scan pins' operation in the scoring... You probably have a marginal setting on one of the IR's... I would suspect the one toward the machine.

Don't just eyeball it... take the cover off the camera housing, and look at the indicators on the back of your IR units. step around on the capping (the narrow one, too), and around the gutters. If the indicators blink, you have a loose mounting or something causing movement... that movement is breaking the IR beams.

To get a very tight adjustment, center and tape a flat washer (leave the center hole uncovered) to your reflector while adjusting, so you are sure the beam is dead-centered and not working off the edge of the reflector.

You may also find that when your detectors act up, another function of the scoring acts up as well.. the machine will take a long time to drop the sweep after a ball is thrown, and/or the ball speed indicator will come up 0.00 after a ball is thrown. Either one usually indicates that an IR is out of adjustment or malfunctioning.

The set screws on the ir beams must have been loose i think. They were both out of center on the reflectors. I have checked this before but they appeard ok. Now i have adjusted them and cleand them. There is little or no movement in the base for the camera. If the problem continues i will be back shaking the answers out of you:-). Triac!?! What exactly is the "six-box or f-box" you are speaking of, and where do i find them?

                  Glad you got it Frode,

The Six-box is a machine interface located on the curtain wall with some wires running into you’re A&MC box. The XLMP box is used in conjunction with the Six-box for short strike cycle that will have some wires running to the chassis. From my understanding the F-box does the same thing as the Six-box and XLMP but as one unit.

Check out this thread for a picture of the Six -box …
