Question for anyone who's had this problem.

82-70 with 70XL upgrade from Stahls 70's with 90XL chassis.

Odd lane, chassis has no control over anything. Even lane works fine. Replaced the chassis with the spare but trying to repair the messed-up one.
I have taken the chassis apart completely, including the motherboard out, looking for cold solder joints or burnt components or anything obvious. No luck. Totally cleaned the inside of the unit and all connections which are accessible. AMF is no help cause they will not provide schematics for troubleshooting, and Jamie at Stahls has never had one open in front of him.
Has anyone ever encountered this and, if so, what did you do to fix it?
I'm leaning towards the lane selector key on the touch pad being defective. Like I said, even lane works as advertised, can not select anything on the odd lane. If that's my problem, where can I get a replacement touch pad for the chassis?
Thanx in advance,

Did you do the XLi upgrade or the XL? Or is there a difference? How was it, is it awesome now? Im thinking of doing this.
The impossible often has a kind of integrity to it which the merely improbable lacks.

I don’t know diddly squat about the 90xl chassis, just throwing in my 2 cents.

So you are saying the spare works and that you know problems in the chassis? If you’re not under warranty and the spare worked, I would start swapping out suspected components with the spare.

If you are under warranty, I wouldn’t touch it because anything you do could void the warranty including breaking any seals to open up the chassis.

Maybe you can find something in these manuals. It might be something as simple as a fuse or reset.

XL upgrade. New motors, chasis and distributors. Nice set-up, minor problems at best.

Yes, the spare works fine. That rules out any machinery problems.
Not under warranty. Literally tore the defective chassis apart. Used one of my local military repair shops assets to troubleshoot the boards. (it's a military house so we can do that, nice bonus!)
Found nothing obviously wrong, and physically checked all seven fuses. (5 hard mounted, 2 glass buss type) All good.
We haven't re-mounted the chasis yet, too busy. I'm hoping it was a loose connection on one of the flex-print connections. If not, I'm almost certain the touch pad, odd lane selector key has died.
Thanx for the input, I'll read the manuals and see if I can't find something simple.

At one time Zot was making a chassis. Maybe they can help.

Yes, there is an indicator LED for odd & even and when in manual mode. But the odd lane LED burnt out about a week after we installed the upgrade. When I had the chassis apart, I replaced the LED for that reason. Now, I gotta get it installed and see if it works.
