<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The shuttle connecting rod should be tight. There is no adjustment for the spring.

If the shuttle is wobbly then I would check the clamp stud nuts on the shuttle arms. (070-006-429) The nuts should be quite tight.

      Re: Shuttle ??

If you have a shuttle that sways side to side then I would check the rod that runs from the ten to the seven side. it sits right in front of the head pin. That rod sometimes gets spiral cracks in it and it will actualy twist a little causing the before mentiond problem. It usually starts in one of the keys. That will put the arms out of alighnment. Clutch is right on about the shuttle rod in being that it has to be as tight as possible. That is if you want a good running shuttle to last.
They say that the **** rolls down hill but the smell always starts at the top.

            Re: Shuttle ??

Older 70's had springs on the shuttle connecting rod that were made of flat stock spring wire. These would weaken very quickly and create back &amp; forth bouncing.

The newer springs are made of round stock and have lasted for over 15 years (still OK) since I changed them all.
