  • distributor belt slipping

I have a machine that I just put a new distributor belt on, and it keeps slipping off to the 10 pin side... I have a feeling it might be too long, but I thought I'd throw it out there before I go cutting it... any other suggestions??

Take it off and change directions it rotates.

If this does not work you may have to bend the belt tensioner bracket slightly to improve tracking.

ok... I did that, and it's still happening, but now I see why, I just don't know how to fix it... the roller that the belt tightener spring attaches to, is pulled so far forward, that it's rubbing the belt against the bar that holds the non-adjustable rear roller... I don't know how to fix it... HELP!!!

          Re: distributor belt slipping

          Some items to check:

Is it the right lenght for it's thickness

Is the belt lacing installed square on both ends

Are the eccentrics in good shape and adjusted correctly, little to no sloppiness in the carraige.

Is the tracking bracket roller in line with the rear carraige roller, it can be adjusted side to side.

Sometimes tweaking the tracking bracket angle by using a screwdriver between the vertical links will help.

Is it the correct tension spring? If the spring is too weak you wont have proper tension.

              Re: distributor belt slipping

Most of the Dizzy belts are to long when you get them. They need to be trimmed to length. If it's just rubbing on the frame, shorten the belt 1"
