• Where can I get one of those!

Since I've been back on bowl-tech and read a few post, I've noticed a niffty little gadget that i did not know was avaiable. Where can I get one of those C2A testers and how much is it going to run me? Is it really worth the money for what it does?
There is always more to life, but would someone tell me what it is!

You can get it from AMF (see this post ).

More info here: <a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.cybernetic.com.au" target="_blank">http://www.cybernetic.com.au</a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a>

Ray (rrev on BowlTech) makes them.

The unit, in a nutshell, tells you whether every switch on the machine and the associated wiring is working.

Given that many electrical problems are caused by one of the zillions of switches all over the machine (8270), a C2A tester is very handy.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Sometimes your browser can get scrambled flipping back and forth between screens... if that happens, just try closing out all your internet browsers, wait a minute or so for all the processes to close, then reopen the browser and try again.

Thanks for all the info. After being a mechanic for 5 years and not even knowing that such a things exists I think my trust multimeter will keep doing the job. Besides I hardly have any C2A problems and the switches hardly every go out. But on the flip side it would be nice to have one. Just plug it in and you know your switches work.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I built something like that once. It plugged in under the 1 board and the 1 board plugged into it (when we used to use 5 boards) and indicated the inputs and outputs (so it tested both the switches/wiring as well as the 1 board outputs).

It was overkill by a long shot, but I had fun making it .

Re: Where can I get one of those!

Steve, I'm with Andrew on this one. I think a tester that will indicate everything while the machine is running is overkill. It will be significantly more expensive to manufacture and there are safety issues with the various voltages that pop up in the C2A at times, depending on what type of boards you are running in the chassis.

I have the one from cybernetic, looks axactly the same as AMF. I think cybernetic makes them for AMF, just like the Solid State Start Switch for BE and Combi motors.
I also adjust the table and sweep switches with the tester, very handy if lanes are running and can't hear the click of the micro switch.
In the past year i think I have solved 3 electrical problems in the machine circuit, so it´s not a daily tool.
I´am convinced it´s saved me a lot of time and it is a must to have.
