i got this MP chassis that doesn't send the 2nd ball signal to scoring. swapped boards of course, board's fine. machine's fine. so.. it's in the chassis. no problem.. grab my green book. ok.. APS pins 3 and 4. traced those wires to socket P-1; pins D-104 and X-120 respectively. checked for continuity. both wires fine. pins all in good shape. but no matter what board or pinsetter you choose, no 12V on those pins. everything else works fine. what else should i check? thanks in advance...
If it were AMF scoring, I would check your power to the 2nd ball light, as the scoring takes the triger power from there. As your profile shows steltronics, I have no clue.
well i mighta found it. good guess Jim, but my second ball light works fine. here's what i found last night after staring hard and long at the ol' schematics, and studying other chassis in their native habitat (studying their mating habits, in case i need a spare):
the second ball circuit receives its power from OLL's 1 and 2 (+16vdc) OLL1 powers all pindicator lamps, the foul and 2nd ball circuit, and maybe somethin else I can't think of.. OLL2 powers your 1st/2nd ball mask lights, strike light, foul light and whatever else. reading 16v from both. ok, got power, just not to aps pins 3 and 4. weird. stare at the book some more.. aha. if pin 4 is negative, and negative is ground, then i should get continuity between pin 4 and ground, but only when the machine is in 2nd ball. no problem there. stare at the book some more.. aha, pin 1 in the mask plug (chassis side) goes straight to OLL1. but horizon masks don't even USE pin 1! how does this thing power itself!?! stare at the book some more... aha, stupid wire. it would seem that the third pin in the mask plug should be tied to pin 1. there's my +16v! woohoo! i mighta fixed it but we closed way early last nite.
Hey monkey. go in the back. see that thick black wire and skinny red one? twist em both together and put a male c1 pin on em. insert into hole # 1 of mask plug. then tell everyone here how i blew somethin up/started a fire/made little baby chassis...
Can somebody give an explaniton how pins 2, 3, 6 are supposed to be connected. I had a shortcircuit there for the drive motor connection because of water leakage.
I have a distributor that is pulling the belt hard to the left in the nine pin position (and possibly 6 pin), but seems fine in the other spots. As you can see the residue and...
I have several Pin Elevators that I believe to be out of round on my XLi's and was curious if anyone has ever run across this before and is so, what you did about it.
