  • 'Swinger'

I just installed a swinger at the 12 lane center that I work. At first it was no better than the leather strap. I took off the brown rod cover that came with the unit and put Stahl's small dia. cover on. Works great, I rolled a light ball on one lane and a heavy ball on the other. We have Humpbacks so the heavy ball caught up to the light ball under-lane because I could hear it nudge the light ball so they arrived at the same time and the swinger locked on to both balls and they went up the belt just fine--like a power lift will do. Has anybody else had success?? The adjustment is critical to make it lock on to the balls.
Yeah but, We've always done it that way.

        Re: 'Swinger'

I loved the one I had in Utah. Has a pair split by load bearing support beams. Double wide ball exit....double lift jurry-rig. lane 9 ramped into 10, so if a ball from 9 got infront of a ball from 10, 10 would catch up. I put it in, and never had to work on it again (almost 5 years b4 we upgraded to C-90) as I recal, it came with red covers. Many moons ago.

It is a product manuractured by Quality. It is 2 bars (with plastic covers) that replace the leather strap. It allows the piks to grab 2 balls at once. Check your Quality book, it has a picture and description.

We don't have them, but I have seen Swingers work, and they are sweet... they eliminate a lot of the common problems places have with shur-piks.

                  Re: 'Swinger'

Back about 10 years ago when the Reactive/ Oil boom hit, I got one to try out. It stayed in a few years until a little girl got her hand stuck in it. Her hand was between the rails pinned by the ball. Thankfully she did not get hurt. I took it out the next morning. The leather strap probably would not have let her hand get stuck. This was before the Federal recall notice.
The only accident Ive ever had and it was with a Swinger.
