Re: Draining Oil out of Gearbox Problem
HI we are trying to drain the oil out of the gearbox on one of our motors but it is very hard to get in at to drain as the drip pan is welded on so it cannot be removed. We drilled a hole in the drip pan to try make the gear box easier to get in at.. Any better ideas on how to drain 90XLi motors out would be appreciated!

Re: Draining Oil out of Gearbox Problem
Go buy about 2 feet of hose, and a fitting to screw into the gear box. If your fast enough you won't make that big of a mess. That's the way I use to do it on my 70's 90's may be different, now I just remove the gear box, drain and fill with new oil, and put some antisieze on the drive shaft splines.

Re: Draining Oil out of Gearbox Problem
Take the gear box off and do it in the shop where you wont make a mess. Your drip pans are to catch any leaks, therefor you dont want holes in them. If you have holes in them, they wont catch drips, it will end up on your deck.
