  • XLi backend sidemount gearbox problem...

Ok, have a XLi sidemount backend motor, and the gears will not come out of the gearbox, as the manual says they I missing something, or is there a trick. Is the XLi Motor & Gearbox manual wrong about something? I follow the directions, and get stuck after I complete step #5, which is, Remove the retaining ring and shim, from the pin elevator drive shaft. Step #6 says to remove the pin elevator drive shaft assembly, but its not exactly coming out...Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey, why don't you give QubicaAMF guys a call. There are only a few guys here with that equipment and I don't think they have run into this yet. The number is 866-460-7263. Press 1 on the first menu and 3 on the second.

One thing i do know is that on a b.e. gearbox, the pin elevator shaft is the toughest to get out... national that is. if there are any similarities, im not suprised.on a national box you just gotta keep working it until the bearing slips out of its housing.
Don't mind me, what you read is invisible.
