  • Idea for kickback

I was wondering if anyone has tried putting double sided tape on the back on the kickbacks (metal ones on the machine) and then put in the pop-rivits. I just thought of the idea and tried it out on one side to see if would last longer. My thinking behind this is that the vibrations of bowling and the machine the pop-rivits loosen up and then the cover starts to silde around, wallowing out the holes.
Just wondered if anyone has tried this method before?

Just keep the rivets in and the KB plate will be fine.

Not to be the devils advocate, but I see a few problems.

1.) The tape will create a void, possibly shortening the life of the panel
2.) The tape would be a one shot placement, not allowing for any readjustment should you not get the holes lined up the first time.
3.) When I change a PBL door weldment assy, I like to replace the bolts. To do this a few rivets need removed and tape or glue may cause damage when prying it away from the kickback.

Thanks for the input, I tried this on the oposite side ball door. Time will tell how this idea will work out.
