• MP BOARD DIAGRAMS

Does anyone have wiring diagrams on the break down of what the different areas of the board are ie:what controls the sweep etc
There be those who can, those who will, those who have, and those who just crap on and on about it.

Since I work on these things all the time - I just want to make one point. If you don't have a really good desoldering system (not the hand operated vacuum pump type), you have to be VERY careful when working on these boards or you will can cause some problems. 1. you can pull the plating out of the board (not good) and 2. you can easily pull the traces that connect the IC's together on the board. PLEASE BE CAREFUL or you just might end up with a board that is practically useless. I use a $1,000+ vacuum desoldering tool and still sometimes have these problems, there was a certain run of boards (9850's) that had very bad plating and they are a real pain in the arse to work on. The solder pads & traces just fall off.

Sure you can say all I want is the business, but it seems sooner or later I'll get the boards that are all buggered up & people want me to perform a miracle. I don't work on the mecahnical end of this stuff, 'cuz I would just bugger it up...consider the same with electronics...

Just a thought.....

I work on some nice old Brunswick A-2 pin setters. Most issues I've come across haven't been to problematic to figure out. But being I can't seem to get it to recreate the issue...
