HELP even lane not setting 1,2,3

I have search everywhere on forms and cant seem to find what will help. Lane 14 will not load or set the 1 2 3 pins. i have change the I/O board, replaced all pin holders with new ones, checked the CB2 relay and all good. I have no idea where to look next. I have check harness for breaks in wires and didnt find any. had to send my league bowler home tonight unfortunately. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance Tim

found the problem. had a loos connection at the box. replaced the pins and back in business. thank yall for the help!

Thoroughly check continuity of the common solenoid wire for pin holders 1, 2, and 3 with a multimeter. Use some alligator clips on the multimeter and rotate the swing shafts in the setting table by hand to determine if the wire is separating intermittently. Take a new male molex pin and see if it fits tightly into the female molex pin. Replace the female molex if the male pin is loose inside.

I would swap the external table harness connecting to the silver box with the adjacent lane to see if the problem transfers. Same with the I/O.

checked continuity on all wires to pin cups and all is good also have a tight fit on all molex pins. tried to run it in diag and still doing the same thing. could it be possible i have a bad wire in the table harness running from the consolidated box to the table? I have not checked that as of yet

You absolutely could have a fault in the wire harness above the distributor. Even the cable’s female connection located on the right side of the silver box could have expanded pins.

I’m assuming you’ve ruled out anything mechanical such as whether or not the cups’ grippers are pushing the pin station release levers up enough, setting table levelness…

correct I recently leveled the table. Its been running great ever since I did that then this happened out of no where. I double checked to make sure everything was still level and it is. I will check out the female connections on the plug and check continuity of the harness. see what we got there. I will let you know and go from there.

update, swapped the table harness above distributer to another lane and problem did not move. also checked continuity on all female molex ports on consolidated box and all is good to the plug. what am i missing here?

replaced table harness with a new one just in case and no good still not loading the1 2 3.

ok i will say as others have said that you have a broken earth , on 98s the earth is red wire follow the red wire from 1 pin connect to red wire from 456 red wire in the side channel see if this works and if so then you then know its your earth and then find the break .
