      I'll go with Bill's comment. That's a GSX assembly, not an A-2.

I've had 4 of these shafts wear down like that. Just cheap metal used for the shaft. Best thing is not to over tighten the v-belts.

I had that happening a long time ago on GS-98's. My solution is to cut a few mm's off of the end of the shaft and drill and tap the end of it. That way I can tighten the pulley up against the collar of the shaft nice and tight with a machine screw and washer. Coming up on 10 years with that modification with no further problem.

I've had this happen a few times. And I believe its from the belts that run off that side of the pulley. Meaning that overtime running on that side of pulley the shaft gets weak and starts to wear. If you ever notice its almost always the the part of shaft that closest to the pulley that starts to wear. But most of time for my self its because of the bearing starts to seize up!

10 years, 24 machines, and never had this problem, now I shall have to go look.

Cheap metal possibly, I would to see if there's something that has to much tension for shaft, or its not aligned.
