  • pinsetter waits for full rack, no error code, missing pin4

    Hey best colleagues,

    What Am I missing?

Lane 11, 2 times a hour, same stop.

People wait for new full rack, no error code, table won't set pins and pin 4 is missing in the pinholder (pinholder grippers are closed)
I need to switch power off, power on and reset to set the pins.

What is the problem? already changed out the microswitches.

the only thing happens is the distributor motor turns off.
These are GS96 machines, double switches

    thanks in advance

Could be a bad wire going to or in solenoid.
For Sale, Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain.

I don't understand why the machines gives no error code for this.
When I block the pinstation by hand, preventing pins falling in, the machine will give error 4

Sounds like the connection to the 4 pin.

Connection not quite solid enough or the plastic links binding. The jarring of the pins dropping versus being blocked by your hand can make a difference if the connections are not solid.

If no error code is being shown then this sounds to me like it is 98.7% likely it's an issue with the electronics. The easiest way to eliminate this as a culprit is to switch electrical enclosures with a neighboring machine. I'm not positive what kind of electronic setup GS-96 has or I'd be more specific.

It could be not tripping the pin to drop by occasionally not solidly hitting the release lever, and/or an intermittant sticky pinholder switch lever.
I'd replace the plastic switch parts on the pinholder. The no error seems inconsistant with the thing actually stopping. No code, no stop. So the CPU could not be displaying it, then I'd suspect the CPU.

If I can't fix it I'll break it so no one else can fix it either.

I've got GS 96 machines and we had this problem years ago. Every so often a machine would just sit there and wait for a pin. It was usually the 3 or 4 pin. We used to call them ghost calls. We got new software for our gamesetters and all the ghost calls went away. The new software am talking about is the one that detects the pin as it comes off the elevator and then the machine will go into sleep mode after the last pin goes in the pit.

Sounds like your trip lever is vibrating off the pinholder gripper while waiting for a pin. We used to have lots of those until we went with the wider tripper. You might also move the position of the pinholder slightly to prevent this.

You might need to move the pin station forward just a little so the pin release lever doesn't slide off the gripper while waiting for a pin. That's been my problem anyway and thata is how I sooved the time outs waiting for a pin that is already htere.
