I start having a look and basically the machine is just making the long stroke only. So I take a look
at the reset button on the ball return and that seems fine. I unplug it just to rule it out. I take a look at the
stroke limiter and that seems fine. Stroke limiter solenoid seems fine. So I check the CPU, high voltage and I/0 board as well. Everything seems fine but the lane just wants to Make The long stroke. So I start by changing the solenoid as I notice that its not being pulled in to stop the table wanting to set pins. Nope. Still makes long stroke. I adjust the stroke limiter. Up, down, left and right. Nope. Machine says no. I change CPU, I/0 and check all fuses etc. Nope. Then table starts releasing the pins into the horizontal position randomly as well. I adjust the latch and make sure the pin holders are level. That sorts that. Still making long stroke. I take the whole stroke limiter off. Change the shock, clean the bearing that turns the sq shaft and change the rod that attaches to the stroke limiter. I put it back on but it still doesn't want to know. I put a nexgen in from a working lane and guess what? No it still doesn't work. Start to think it must be a wiring issue. Check solenoid connections and check all the way to nexgen. Check nexgen connections etc but everything is ok. Starting to get angry. Scratching my head as to what to do next. I randomly decide to swap lane 1s stroke limter with the one from lane 2. Just to definitely rule out it actually being something to do with that. What happens? Lane 1s stroke limiter works perfectly on lane 2 and lane 2s works perfectly fine on lane 1. These bowling machines sure like to test us some times.
