  • AMF 82-10

Was just browsing through youtube and stumbled across this video of the AMF 82-10. Very interesting video and shows all aspects of the pinsetter and shows a strike and spare cycle!

That's really cool, never heard of them. The oldest center we had here got 30's in the 1940's.

Did this "thing" actually make it to production? or were they prototype machines.
That deck doing a 180 spin to set pins is crazy looking.

I believe this was a prototype. If I remember correctly, the first AMF machines that went into production were the 82/30 3900/4400 chassis.

If I remember my history, Mr. Schmidt was on the ground floor of the AMF machines, i.e. the one with the flipping table, suction, etc. Some of his stuff went into what the 82/30 became. When the patents came up in the '80's or so, Brunswick came up with the GS series, named after him.

That's a very basic history from memory. If anyone can add to this or correct anything, please do so.

I thought 'GS' stood for 'Game Setter'

And being from overseas with different types of bowling like 9 pin,the "10" in GS10 meant what game it was setting for. Then after Brunswick bought it each major improvement got a different year GS92 96 or whatever they were until the X

So then what would be after "X"?

Maybe like all the other names on this machine that were taken from AMF sweep/table,etc they can just add on some letters

GSXNEXT, assuming the only thing they do is update the Nexgen electronics.
