  • Deck hook block

As a complete newbie I don't get a chance to post much usefull information on this forum. So I figured something out (after MANY hours of adjusting) this weekend, that may just save other newbies a big headache. Those who have been at this a while feel free to laugh.
It turns out that the block that the rake hook latches to has a tapered edge, and will only work properly if installed correctly.

If it's broke it will work great.... until you stop watching it.

Oooops. Deck hook block might have a few scratching their heads. In my head I was typing rake hook, but in reality my fingures aren't nearly as eloquent.

The mating of the "Rake Sweep Hook" and block was discussed not long ago.

Here is a pic of what the two look like if the block is installed upside down.
