  • Jetback machine for home use

Hello Brunswick guys. If you had the chance to buy a Jetback machine to set up at your house in your garage would you take on the task?

As you know from the front edge of the kick back to the rear of the machine is 9 feet that will give me 10 feet from front edge of kickback to garage door. I could make up a couple lane sections that I could pull out of garage and lay on driveway to give more length when wanting to bowl.

I would like to hear what you think the good and bad is of a project of this size.
    Thanks for your input.

I am planning on doing the same thing actually. Not for the full lane though. I have an A and an A2 I want to slowly build in the garage. The only thing that bothers me so far, is figuring a way of lifting everything to let the Pit Conveyor function properly. I would think we'd have to shim up everything including the lane. Just not sure how to do it yet...(don't have any kickbacks) And my driveway is really short, so i'm not sure how I'd do a lane yet either. I definitely want the pinsetters built though.

You will have to build up the lane. I believe min height from floor to top of pin deck is 15 3/4 inches. The other problem is the darn machine weighs about 2000 pounds.

15 3/4 inches is about correct for the pinsetter to sit above the floor, for a surface ball return. It should be at least 24 inches to accomodate an underground ball return.

One easy way to put lane sections together for portable use, is to drill holes in the ends of the sections and install dowels. Matching holes should be drilled in the mating ends. Line up the dowels with their respective holes, and you're good to go. Then shim the lane sections level.

Is $300 for a working Jetback pinsetter and one that I have to remove from the bowling center a good deal?

I thought it was a good price. Problem is I don't have much help getting the darn thing out of there. Need a scissor lift and don't have one. I have a trailer, would need to rent a fork lift for a couple hrs at $25.00 an hr. Then get it home and put back together again.

A pallet jack and some crates will do the front end; you need to chock the deck lift arms to the frame at 0 to support it's weight, I've used a dolly to move elevators, hands help.

You can rent the needed items to remove the pinsetter.

Are they giving you the kickbacks?

Yes they would have. But I would also have to remove them. (Unscrew them)

Part of the problem was lack of help to remove it.
