Sweeping pins on second ball
I have a machine that during the first game, will sweep pins off of the deck before the second ball cycle. Then as the game goes on it will stop all together. It is truely dumb-founding. I have checked the detector rod adjustment with full deck and different pin setups, I have checked the CCD with the tester, Pin spotting is good About 6 months ago we changed the stablizer rods. I'm lost.Tags: None

Is it cycling on its own after 1st ball, or not detecting standing pins and sweeping them away? Or possibly sweeping away pins in the event of an oor. What do you end up with, an empt deck, or a deck with 10 pins?Nick

It is sweeping after 1st ball random setup with pins. Does not do all the time. I would say every third frame in the 1st game and then the second game it did it one time sometime before forth frame. Did not occur after that. Scoring properly. The respots have been 1st and 10 standing. It sweeps then sets new set of pins. It is possible could be out of range, but I couldn't tell you for sure. I sat on it did not see anything out of the ordinary and of course it did not happen while I was watching. I have hooked a led light to check to see when the trigger occurs on the TS2 # 6 for the cycle solenoid. light engages when solenoid does so I have ruled out this. I have had this problem for sometime now, but it comes and goes. The last time this happened was in November same symtoms same machine.Last edited by riversidesmechanic; 01-26-2012, 02:44 PM.

What's throwing me off is that the problem goes away. Somethings to look at: how is the condition of the reset lever / actuator? does the roller have a good "catch" when it completes the cycle? and the gap at the shotgun, between the trip link and bearing, may be too close? also, you gap in the shotgun itself could be too tight. Maybe also check for a broken pit cushion, I've had intermittent cycles caused by this. If you have an electronic cross-ball triggering system, unplug it and see if the problem goes away. Also check the oporation of your OOR, detector rod may need to be tweeked.

It appears the accuator link has been modified instead of a slot at the bottom, someone cut it at an angle?????? Why has this been done. What purpose does this server? It is allowing the lever to release and then cycles the machine

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
