  • Machine Stopping

I just got a call from my b-mec and #39 is stopping at 270 setting pins.

    Sort of suddenly ???
Havn't had problems with this machine in the past.

    Any suggestions??

    Thanks.. Tim

Dashpot might be out of adjustment, or your gb clutch could be stopping to late causing an overtravel past zero.

      That could be
I have the stop bumper and no dashpot.

These bumpers do break every so often.

cracked reset lever arm... or maybe the bearing that rides on the cycle cam is bad.

Right on the money, Reset lever cracked but cracked in a unusual place.

I don't remember ever seeing one break there.

on the double supports, that's where the pressure is transferred to.. in other words.. the weakest point. However, that is the first one of that type that I have seen crack in that location and that will be stored away for future reference. Thanks for the picture.

That one is a double arm support...isn't it? I have seen them crack there also...due to the fact that the normal spot is beefed up.

Double check your 180 interlock link adjustment as this is usually the cause of the breakage...too much pressure while at 0 degrees.

I don't think so because it would have another projection with a smaller bearing....the part that is cracked is for the bearing that rides along the cam on the 1:1 shaft.

I think what Steve is eluding to is that because the lever has two arms instead of one, it has no where else to crack now but at the next weakest spot.

BTW, just got call today from one of our sister centres; they also had a cracked reset lever, in the same spot. Lol
