  • hand dryer wont work

having issue getting power to the hand dryer for the front ball lift.i have brunswick 2000 ball lifts.it has the control box which is mounted on the lift and it has another box mounted under the ball tray which im guessing is transformer box.it keeps blowing fuses.if i unplug the transformer box the fuse is good as soon as i plug the transformer box back in it blows.ive changed out the relays no luck ive left the fan unplugged when ive tried the test also still no luck.i see in the control box there is a i believe to be another transformer.could that be causing it.any ideas would be great. thanks
hey just because its used doesnt mean its no good.

what type of blower fans do you have? Sounds like 24 volt fans. If so thats probably your transformer for your 24 volt that has gone bad.

Most of the time my issues with the hand dryers have been broken (loose) wires in the control box, either on the transformer or that little red push button circut breaker. Pull the box and look inside.

You have to unplug the hand dryer from the transformer output to see if the fuse holds. Brunswicks 115 to 24 volt adaptor box had a resetable breaker instead of a fuse on that adaptor box. Is the fuse you are blowing on the original lift control box? Astroline control boxes had a seperate twist-in fuse for the hand dryer, which with the addition of the 24 volt adaptor box, usually blows first. If it blows the fuse on the original control box, there could be a wire from the fuse to the hand dryer plug that is touching ground.
You can check the resistance on the hand dryer motor leads (comparing the reading to a good one), to see if the hand dryer itself is bad. To blow a fuse - or trip the breaker- it would show very few ohms, compared to over 100 if it was good.

i did find the issue.the transformer box was wired different.so i had to unsolder and resolder the wires and move them around and now it works.thanks wepauls for pointing out about the 2 different volts in the house.
