Having issue with Pin Deflector Bungee Cords not holding up very long, or comming losse and getting caught in the ball/pin wheels. Which in turn having issue with pins getting carried up the ball wheel and getting caught/jammed in the ball lift rods. Believe issue in being helped by addition of new Guarding added to the pinsetter. see picture attachment. Looking for ideas to resolve this issue.

I read a while back, masternut, takes an eye bolt and an all thread coupler and uses it for the TOP bolt on the pin deflector, then runs the cord like normal to the other eye bolt by the clapper. i go in tomorrow and can show you a picture of a machine i've done this to. haven't had any issues with it and it's kept pins from being carried all the way up to the lifts.

Actually...if the pin gets to the pin deflector cord by being pushed by a bowling ball...that occurred before it even reached the height of the new guards. The new guards should not have anything to do with the longevity of the pin deflector cord. Pin deflector cords will wear out if they are doing their job. If they never wear out...they never touched a pin. One thing you could look into is if the ball is touching the cord as the ball goes up the ball wheel. This can be a cause of wear.

Steve; instead of using Brunswicks original style with a wire metal hooked to the frame and 2 eye bolts. I use a ty-wrap around the frame and one eyebolt in the original spot next to the ball lift. I wrap the bungee cord around the ty-wrap and hook it with both hooks at the eye bolt with a couple of twists of the bungee cord, it seems to give more strengh and last longer. They just don't seem to last vary long. Just looking for ideas. Seems l like more pins being taken up the ball wheel getting jammed in lift since install of new guards

Pinsetter Parts Plus has a devise to deflect pins. You can get rid of your bungee cords for good! It is on page 6 part # PPP-BWPD-NG

It's in their new catalog (2012) under new products. But you are right, it's not on their website. The new products page says 2011. I made a similar device that mounts on the top of the clapper block and hangs a gum rubber lift rod cover down along side of the lift rods to deflect pins. Their's mounts to the rear guard of the pinsetter.

I picked one (PPP thing) up yesterday to try. Try to get it on later today, after finishing up the foul line stickers that I have to put on.
