  • 1 to 1 cycle cams

Finally getting some time to work on this stuff. I bought 8 machines that are lowering link gearboxes that had the 90 degree overtravel things locked out. If I remove the older clutch reset lever and overtravel stuff, can I just replace the clutch reset lever with a newer style or do I need to remove and or replace the cycle cams that are on these 1 to 1 assemblies? Want to build a couple of lowering link boxes to install someday.
And these machines were converted to A-2's.

We have 4 lanes here that use the newer style reset lever with the 2 end of cycle cams on 1 to 1. I would venture to say, yes.

The newer reset levers ELIMINATES the need for cycle cam for 90 overtravel
You can replace gear-box reset-lever i believe no ill effect

            Marty:
You will thank yourself later if you use a dremel with a 5/8" sanding drum and grind out the 270 portion of the inner cam until it matches the 270 portion of the outer cam. Gives much better control of the dashpot adjustment.

I have done that very thing thanks to Roscoe's input on a few rebuilt 1:1's. Works out really good...this makes the dashpot adjustment so much easier due to there being a larger "difference" between the first rise and the second rise of the clutch reset lever. Don't take too much off though, the tension on the plunger lever will not be enough to keep it "snug" against the dashpot. Only take off as much material as needed to put you the same as the outer cycle cam. I clamped them together in a vise and then followed the contour of the outer cam when grinding it down.

Again, thanks Roscoe for that suggestion a few years back.
