  • 180 not waiting for pins

In need of help. When I got the call last night he said it was always staying at 180. While picking up pins or a strike ball.i noticed the plunger assembly rivets were loose so I change the assembly out. Now for some reason it won't stop at 180 just set an empty deck.
i tried adjusting the 180 interlock shaft. Rotated clockwise (from 10 side top of machine looking down) till the 180 lever bottomed out. Then I put in full deck signal and rotated counter clockwise till it releases the stop arm then I tightened it down.
But it still doesn't wait for pins. I'm out of ideas. :/ any suggestions or able to call someone for a walk through?

Since you stated this started after changing the plunger lever...cycle to 180 degrees strike detection (either 1st ball strike or second ball) and stop. Position by hand if need be. Create an empty deck signal if you don't have one...and then operate the clutch release lever by hand. Raise it up so that it would kick the stop arm out and then let go. Does it fall freely...no restriction? You may have a bind between the bearings in the plunger lever and the flat surfaces of the clutch release lever.

Let us know what you find...

The plunger lever assembly and clutch release lever assembly both have spacers on them correct? Cuz when I put them together it didn't really move freely with the spacers all in there. But I take it there needed? Or else they wouldn't have came with them.

Depends on the style of plunger lever and clutch release lever. You stated that the plunger lever rivets were loose? If the plunger lever has rivets...there are no spacers needed. The style that uses spacers is the cast version.

If you can post a picture of what you have, we can let you know if it is correct.

There's 2 spacers on the lever assembly and 1 spacer on the clutch release lever assembly. So 3 all together pushing with each other. And I just thought it was a normal set up like that. So is that wrong?
on the one I took off the clutch release lever didn't have a spacer on it but it was the old style.

This is what the parts look like. It is a tight fit when they go into each other.

It does not just drop down. I don't get why the spacers are so thick as to where there's hardly any movement available :/ idk

Is the mounting bolt too tight? The new owner where I worked, went on all the machines one day and tightened all the bolts down. What a mess, the machines wouldn't trigger!

Ok I put the old clutch release lever back on and it moves more freely. Now the problem im facing is it closes the scissors every at strike detection and at the end of second back. Sweeps and thinks its putting pins back down.

I'm totally mind screwed here. The bearing and latch assembly (12-100238-051) that gets blocked by the scissor cam is not moving to block out the latch so the scissors don't close.
ive checked for binds and I can't seem to find anything. It's like a big maze to me with no end. :/

Plus at 90 degrees I notice the ball bearing on the scissor cam lever isn't in the low dwell of the disc. But if I push it wish my finger it falls into the dwell and then detects a strike. But then when it goes to set new pins the deck doesn't shift to set pins. Just stops and sits there.

Something is preventing the pin detector link from moving fully forward. There is likely something binding preventing the actuator from being pulled forward by the pin detector link.
