I have a re-spot of a 4 pin tonight. I go and spot the 4 pin and I then check the scissors and the deck pad. This is what I find left of the deck pad! The repair procedure here use to be stuff some paper towels in the holes and duck tape them up! This "fix" I guess lasted a few years until tonight. I would say out of the 60 deck pads on the machines about 40 of them look like this, or have huge holes in them. There was only 1 spare pad in the back, and it was about as hard as a rock. Never the less I got it a bit softer and put it on the machine.
The next shot the pinsetter detected a strike on standing pins. So it totally wasn't the deck pad. After inspecting the detector it was rather "dry" and I oiled it up and it once again worked properly.
To make the night even worse, I guess in my haste to fix the deck pad, the 5/16ths driver fell out of my pocket and made its way through the machine and ended up under the lip of the turn pan causing pan jams.
When I say this place is falling part in my posts. I'm not kidding.... I gotta start a fund raiser or something for some $ to repair some of these things.
I wish I had some pictures of the pit cushion linkages I've rebuilt. I couldn't begin to tell you the number of parts that were MISSING on those assemblies. How they ran, I have NO idea!!! Either parts were missing, or added washers galore. I guess that's expected when nobody rebuilds assemblies in almost 20 years (no joke).
Years ago someone sold rubber plugs and a rubber cover, you glued the plug in the worn out hole and the cover over bottom of the pad. I still have 1 center with a few of these. They worked great with the glue on pads.

Few years back John I don,t think anyone did much of anything over there, I could almost hear them here in Pekin when they fired up!
I believe you are correct brentman1. That's why we are trying to make up for the neglect. But as Jeff Foxworthy once said, "It takes a long time to get to England in a rowboat." Doing as much as we can when we can.

Glad to see you guys working hard at it, that is a really nice center!
There are many of those white/yellowish pads on the machines here. Most have holes in them, not a surprise. Maybe this summer I can sneak in a set of new pads for a machine.
Good morning, I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...
Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
Working...
