  • Pin head(s) have a torn chunk of surlyn

Just installed new pins in our center about two weeks ago. I am having to put the old pins back in lane 26 because a coupld of them have a big tear in the surlyn by the head of the pin. I've looked through the bottom of the deck to see if anything was sticking out, but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. I'm going to recheck again, but am kind stumped, because it only happens every so often (only happened to 3 out of 20 pins in two weeks). Any point in the right direction would be much appreciated!

do pins sit between the kickback and shaker? looks like a rub mark from sitting in the same place

No, Board is aligned and pins don't hold upside down between either side. That was my first guess! But, it's the exact same mark on each pin, no other tears or marks.

Kinda looks like a burn from the ball wheel belt. Is the plastic burned , or is it actually broken apart ?
There is light at the end of the tunnel - just be sure it is not a train.

Oops! Scratch that - found a little pile of surlyn scraps on the 10ps under the pit board/kickback. All good, am installing a board at the back of the lane to prevent this from happening again! Thank you

          Never hurts to check twice!

          *sigh* Hello friends..

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
