Never seen that. Looks like they might have dropped a few times.

I've seen that before. Not sure if it was because of people kicking out OOR pins and letting the deck free fall or not manually reversing the deck properly and letting it free fall and landing on fallen pins or what, but.....
I installed a patch that beefed up the area and kept the deck from flexing. I drilled another hole on the deck next to the support structure. I then took a thick piece of steel and bolted it across the crack. I'm going to try and attach an edited picture to kind of clarify.
Held up well until I was able to swap out the assembly.

....I put the plate on the under side of the deck, the top part just had bolt heads sticking out and there was no clearance issues with the moving deck.

Did you weld it first and then brace it. I just had mine welded and the guy wouldn't reinforce it underneath. Said it didn't need it and if it breaks it will break along side the weld and not the weld. I should have put the steel plate under it like I had suggested.

No welding. Just bolted the plate in place. Didn't have to pull off the moving deck either; only problem was maneuvering my large arse and creaky legs into place to take care of it.
I kind of came up with the idea after one of the deck cracks that was there was close enough to the hole that all I had to do was put a thick fender washer bolted there and used the existing hole....but most of the cracks were like yours and so a larger beef up plate was needed.

I must admit, I have never seen this happen in all my years so I have never had to deal with it. I will definitely be watching this thread closely to chose someones repair method (or come up with one of my own from these posted ideas) in the event I actually come across this situation myself.

Sounds similar to what i did on 4 or 5 of them a few years ago. One finally gave out last year and had to pull it & do major welding.

                *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
