  • Resetting full rack

I have one lane giving me fitz. JetBack converted, Frameworx scoring w/Dual Output ball detect. Have not been able to catch it, but I think NPS kicking in at the beginning of first ball cycle, raking pins and setting full rack first ball. Does it on multiple pin leaves, single pin leaves. Foul unit disconnected, detector rod adjustment ok and lubed, cycle solenoid and adjustment good, no bind in pit cushion. And only happens a few times a week. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

What makes you think it's the NPS?

The detector can intermittently fall into second ball at 270 if the projection on the standing pin controller is worn.

By chance is the detector a toe style?

I just had a problem of the machine sweeping spares occasionally. I found the 180 link was adjusted too high. When the deck was empty, no problem, but when the deck was full, the actuaor link would bind and not allow the clutch latch to slip under the pin on the reset lever. Just a thought.

Why I suspect NPS is nobody hits the rack, nobody sees it rake their pins away. And I am not familiar with the term 'toe style'. Will check out 180 linkage, webee.

The toe style refers to the type of controllers you have in the detector.

This image shows a roller type controller on the standing pin controller where a roller bearing rides on the cam.
the toe type do not have little roller bearings riding on the cam.
Insted there is what we refer to as a toe riding on the cam.

You can also see where the projection on the standing pin controller gets blocked out by the detector disk at 270.
If the projection on the standing pin controller is worn down it can cause the detector to get pushed into second ball at 270.

            Just something top check.

If you suspect the NPS...disconnect the x-washer pin at the solenoid and see if the issue goes away.
