Lift rods
OK, I did Lonnies adjustment on a couple lanes. Worked great except I don't know what to do about one. Here is a pic of a good one and the one I don't know what to do. They both return the balls as they should but I don't like the way the one sets at the top. The 2 on the left is the one that looks bad at the top next to the ball return. Not sure how to get it right.Pain is the weakness leaving body

I have yet to do Lonnie's liftrod adjustment but from what I see here on the left picture..I would cut away some of the rubber at the top on both sides then reinstall both upper urethane caps so they sit at the top better. I would also remove the red bumper and either cut it down or installed the black segment sold by PPP so make the spring straight as possible.

The pics on the left are actually more correct than the ones to the right. However, I do see the spring rod tilted at a greater angle on the left. This sometimes happens on some machines. Keeping everything together, take a vibrator shaft and enter it just below the upper part of the rear rod as far right (pinsetter right, 10 pin side) as possible and rest on the top of the rear elevator frame. Push down on the shaft. We are now reforming the rods to bring the clapper block back near level but not past toward the 7-pin side. This will lower the spring rod.
The pictures to the right show the clapper block tilted toward the 7-pin side. This should be corrected as per my instructions to reduce chances of the ball resting on top of rods. So, in essence, both rods need minor fine tuning.
Good luck!

Thanks a bunch. The tilt is what I was concerned about. Al my others are already pretty much level and the top is not near the ball track. The machine still picks up and returns the balls great. I just didn't like the way it set at the top. I couldn't figure out how to get it down . I thought it just had to go back toward the ball wheel some how.
As Chip mentioned I do need to go through all my rod caps and get the all reset. I still have the rubber tubing on the bottom which I need to replace with the urethane cap. Everything is coming around but slow and steady.Pain is the weakness leaving body

*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.
Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…
