Im looking for the easiest way to replace moving deck cable that is going into back of spring by mico switch. Anybody help? Thanks

if you do not have an assembly built already you need the Brunswick tool to replace the cable in the tube
to remove from machine lower deck to floor loto than remove cable from pulleys undo to bolts holding tube to gearbox remove pin on pulley remove cable and reverse to reinstall

you may be able to make something work with a vice and a C clamp but that spring is quite powerful i wouldn't advise it the spring needs to be held back so the xpin can be removed to take cable out than insert new cable of proper length and replace pin and x washer release tension
please be careful of this you really should have a spare is there a nearby center that can loan you an assy or the tool that would be best

The part number for the special tool is 12-700110 according to the B Genuine parts catalog. I don't have the price book here at home, but I'm sure someone here can get that for you. The online catalog is at this link: http://www.brunswickbowling.com/serv...arts-catalogs/
It's the 4th one down in the left column. You can download almost all the needed manuals and catalogs here.
If you weren't so far away I could give you a spare spring tube, I have 9 in the spare parts bin. I keep at least 2 ready to go at all times.

If you have a big wise that you can put the unit into (end to end) take a large spacer that will fit inside the tube (cut a slot on one end that will fit over pin and you can compress the spring enough to slip the pin out of the cable, pull the cable out and insert a new one, replace the pin and x washer and you are good to go. That is how I do it.

Do NOT attempt to disassemble one of these tubes without the use of the proper tool. Danger exists and you can be seriously injured.

$150 is a small price to pay versus wearing an eye patch for the rest of your life...or dealing with some other injury that could happen while doing this.

I don't want you to take this next part wrong...but if your experience level is low enough that you need to ask how to do this...then you should by all means be using the proper tool. Learning through the school of "hard knocks" is not recommended with this procedure. Please be safe with this.

This is the proper tool. It's available through Brunswick or Quality.

It can be bolted to the work bench or clamped into a heavy duty bench vice. In this instance, the proper tool should be used for safety reasons and the ease of installing the spring(s) and cable.
