intesting problem
alright the amount of times that this happens in a night is very few and far between but it happens enough were its annoying. lane 7, original brunswick a with zot upgrades. will everyone in a rare random while come down to set a new set of pins and only goes down to respotting height instead of all the way to pindeck. hit reset rake sweeps pins from deck and sets blank set of pins. then you hit reset again and it will run strike cycle and spot a full set of pins all the way to the lane. like i said durring a league it happens maybe once or twice. and sometimes it wont happen at all for a week or so. any ideas?Tags: None

The problem you describe, sounds like the deck lowering hook selector is out of adjustment. Usually the end is slightly worn, which will cause your malfunction. What is happening, is the deck lowering hook is not getting blocked out. You might be able to file on machine to make like new, or adjust to existing wear at the end of projection.

I had the same issue last week. the selector was worn over a 1/4". The latch would hit the selector so hard it would fall off the selector and allow the lowering hook to engage.Conditioner: Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions with Color Enhancer

If the issue is caused by worn parts an extra or slightly stronger spring on the deck lowering hook selector will usually stop the problem until the parts can be replaced.
The reason why the machine sets an empty deck when you cycle it after this happens is because the deck assembly didn't go down far enough to release the long link.

I have used a Dremel to re-shape the end of the deck lowering hook selector so it has a "square" surface again. If you go this route though...the surface will no longer be case hardened as the original surface was...and it will wear fairly quick. You will need to look into a new one soon. By the way...it is not that hard to change...you can do it with the detector right in the machine. Should take you about 15 minutes to accomplish. Let us know if you need guidance with that part of it.TSM & TSM Training Development

*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
Thanks...
