  • geneva roller level woes

Found a lane the head guy doesnt really care do do anything with, why i dont know but its problem is....turret wont drop pins until the machine cycles(finger in the way)and the geneva rollers are WAY-WAY off on the deck. They point almost straight up...not even close to being level. Was told all cables were changed but it didnt help.Machine runs fine that way but whats causing this to happen?Seems when it cycles the m/d cam follower goes forward a bit thus allowing finger to move and drop its pins, like its not pivoting correctly but was told thats not a problem either.Any ideas?Yes...gearbox says its at zero.

    Hey Nighthawk.
While the machine is cycling watch the scissor/moving deck cam and see if it hesitates or pops while in cycle.
You could have a broken key that holds the cam to the 1-1 shaft.
The newer cams have a split hub with a bolt through it.Try tightening the bolt if you have this style cam.
If the cam is OK then you need to tweak your gearbox clutch adjustment.
    Hope this helps.

Sounds like a broken key on moving deck cam. Run mch, to exactly 90 check timing slash mark on cam, should be within 1/32 of pointing at center pin of sissors follower bearing. Cam also probably loose on shaft.

Hi Nighthawk, Have someone changed the 4-1 in the past? I have a machine that has the timing marks off one tooth to the 2-1. Have to keep the crank rod slightly high off center or the turret wont dump till the machine start cycling. PJ
