In the chat room a couple of weeks ago I mentioned an electrical trobleshooting procedure file that I had. Ihave been able to restore all but one page of it to date. There was some intrest expressed that evening and I don't have a list of who all wanted it. Please let me know and I will get it to you.

May the FORCE be with you, Always.

              Re: Elecrtrical Trobleshooting

              Hey Obi !

Sure could use a copy of that electrical trouble guide !

Had a problem last night that I never ran into before !

If anyone can help with problem would be of great help.

Doing new computer score install and the electicians shorted a wire in the main wire harness that went to lane # 8, and the motor start relay on lane # 1 powered up ?

Now the coil to the relay on lane # 1 is toasted (burnt up) and lane # 8 is not running either.

both machines lost the 3 2/10 slow blow fuse when league first started up.

I believe that # 8 needs a new rectifier, and # 1 needs a new relay and who nows what else at this point. Well got to go and try to figure out what is all wrong.

Obi, any help at all would be great. This is also an open invite for any input from anyone out there.

              Thanks

Just a couple of questions,What scoring system is going in and exactly which cable are you talking about,is it the 19 condutor cable controling that bank of pinsetters?
I will be glad to assist if I can help.

                  Masternut:

Thanks for the offer of help!

I did figure out the problem, the frame counter for lane # 8 shorted out so when lane 8 set new pins it would shot off and the voltage went to lane 1 and burnt up the motor start relay and the ball kicker relay.

Been working on these things for 22 years now and never saw this happen before. That is what makes this great no two days are ever quite the same :-).

                  Once again thanks !!!!!!!

                      Obi:

Thanks for the guide I will store it on a floppy disc. I hope that I never need to bring it out. It does seem to explain what wire goes to what, and if a part should be changed out or not.

Thanks again and may the force be with you always !

If the offer is still open I would certainly like a copy... has to fit the Jap machines though.
We have one pinsetter that runs really great with the deck jam switch disconnected (honest! ... it just hangs in mid-air and the machine runs with or without it attached properly) We also have one machine that will turn on (mechanic's override) only from the masking unit and one that refuses to turn on at the master control panel but works fine through the Frameworx control and from the mechanic's override. The Pinsetter with the faulty deck jam switch circuit will not operate from mechanic's override but works fine from the front counter.
