deck allens

What is the best way to remove the broken allens under the deck that hold the scissor arm in place the control arm that is

I would assume you mean stripped. If they were broke, they would just fall out. If the heads are stripped, use a 1/4 inch drill bit and drill the head off. This will remove only the countersunk part of the bolt and not hurt the deck.

I use a left handed drill bit...it bites into bolt shank and backs it right out.

On allens that the heads get stripped i usually use my trusty ball pean hammer and hit the head of the allen until it closes up SOME then,tap my allen key into the allen bolt and unscrew 'em.Has always worked great on the lower ball wheel guide roller allens!Backs them baby's right out.Of course drilling is also another option and very good too if ya got good sharp bits..not like here, most ca'nt go into butter...LOL.

Nighthawk, I hear ya on the drill bits, I got the same kind, drill, sharpen...drill, sharpen....drill, sharpen....aaaargh!
