    Re: Toshiba Motors

The problem with the Toshibas is the internal motor start switch.....I too went hunting for rebuild parts for these motors, and was told by every electrical supply company in the immediate area that they are no longer available, and that I would eventually have to switch to a newer compatible motor as the old switches let go. If anyone knows differently, I would definitely be interested as well.

Toolz, As we suspected. We will explore the possibility of making the electrical switch (aka "throw out bearing","centrifical switch"). If successful-anyone want any? Thanks Toolz

Im good for at least 3 of em. Have searched high and low and cannot find even a substitute for the centrifugal switch.

There was a rumor circulating a while back that Top Line Bowling Supply(I think they're located in Florida) carried the switches for the Toshibas.....however, I never could get a "human being" on the phone....LOL....might be worth another check.
Hey Murrey....put me down for a dozen if you get 'em fabricated
While we're on the subject of obscure parts....does anybody know where I can get one of the metal clips that the accelerator belt brush slips into? Ace Mitchell shows them as "discontinued".....I don't see why, since I CONTINUE to need one....LOL

Would an electronic start switch do? Or are you committed to mechanical switches?
