  • Jap A-2 Electrical System

I had a capacitor go out on a machine today and I just happened to have a spare. When I went to get the part # to order another one, I got the # ok then when I went to check the price the book says its obsolete. So my question is if I don't need it, how do I wire past it, and if I do need it where do I get it and what kind should I be looking for? Eric

    Young Gun,

The capacitor is needed to prevent the Magnetic Clutch microswitch contacts from pitting. I would suggest that you try Radio Shack and see if they have a Cap of the same MFD and voltage recommended.

We've had a couple go bad....got them from an electrical supply company...think it's .47 microferads on ours....they work fine and not too expensive....you should pick up several...it's been my experience that when one goes, afew more like to follow.
