  • strike light comes on at 180 degrees

Hello again and I want to thank all you guys for the help. Here is a new one-we have a machine that after the second ball is thrown, sweeps the pins, and at 180 degrees lights the strike light on the masking unit and when the machine gets to 0 degrees, the strike light goes out. No, the machine did not stop at 180 waiting for pins. It does this all the time on the second ball. Thanks for reading.

Re: strike light comes on at 180 degrees

Sounds as if the strike lever(the odd shaped lever, best i can describe it)is out of adjustment/bent.Bend it some so the edge meets. Also has anyone changed the spring on it to a stronger one causing it to fall into the low and light up the X light?Hope it helps you out,we stopped using the indicators long ago and bowlers don't even care.,after all...how many bowlers care if the light shows up on masking unit when they see the overhaeds light up.

Your mercury switch on the strike light mech on the side of the Detector is out of adjustment. On ball 2 your pinsetter goes into an automatic strike mode, and the mercury switch will drop down thinking its a strike, and the light will come on. Just check your adjustments section in the manual, nothing to it.

We got it fixed. It was the odd shaped lever that the mecury switch rides on. It was bent. I bent it and fixed the problem but then the strike light would not light on a strike so I bent it back part of the way and now it works great. Thanks a million for the suggestions.
