Curious to know if any other techs are having issues with the collapsible rake crank rods...I have had 2 break the internal weld between the spring and the rod(toward the 4:1 end), and subsequently become wrapped around the main brace next to the cable pulleys assembly....Craig had to burn the first one off with a torch....I had enough clearance to cut the second one loose with a sawzall.....what a bitch....LOL
any explanations or 411?
Mike

I have the ZOT Collapsible Rake sweep links installed on 32 lanes about 4 years in service with no troubles. I did receive several collapsible links from another competitor, believe it was Quality, so we gave them a try and less than a year they failed in the same place towards the 4 to 1 crank arm end. Needless to say we replaced them with ZOT .
I've tried a few from Zot, Quality, Brunswick and Vantage. Had a problem with the bolt inside the tube coming loose and having the entire thing fall apart. I started to take the rest apart and locktite the bolt in place. Found the ones from Vantage come that way...didn't need to do those. No other problems thus far...
