  • Frameworks Ball Hoods and Racks

I'm just getting new Frameworks hoods and racks, and does anyone out there who has them can give me some pointers on how you service the motor, and the hand dryer? It looks a little difficult without taking apart a bunch of stuff. Anyone out there have any shortcuts, or advise?

    Thanks in advance.

This hood and rack really is about the best one on the market today. Bear in mind that the materials involved are todays plastics and not the 60's gold crown stainless steel...

Service on the powerlift and hand dryer motor are minimal, vacuuming etc... My center has been in for two years without motor problems.

    Items to check:
make sure installers are careful and clean with their wiring.
The skirt or flange that sits on the approach has two wood screws mounting to the approach in the rear, make sure they don't interfere with lift hood sliding on and off.
If bowling action is rough, make sure the screw that locks the hood to the flange remains tight...
make sure the main bolt attaching to the power lift remains tight, tight at installation will not be tight in six months.
Make sure to stock 1ea. of all plastic parts., 48-lane center and I have replaced at least two of each in the past year

We just got those hoods and racks put in. I like them a lot, but watch out for that reset button. Sometimes they stick and make the machine go into a continuous cycle or banana rack and the solenoid gets very hot. I've had to go and file around the frame where the button is on most of them so far. Also that gray mount that screws into the approuch sometimes gets in my way when servicing the powerlift on the left hand side. But all around I think they are pretty nice.

The worst part about these racks are the reset buttons. After about a year of putting up with sticky and broken reset buttons, I fabricated a metal mounting bracket with a better switch that is longer so I can position it further out to prevent the button from getting stuck. They work great.

the problems with the reset buttons have become so common place that I completely forgot to mention them......
