  • New Accelerator Trough

Just wondering if anyone has purchased the new accelerator trough, the one with the hole in it for pins to fall thru. Is it possible to do that with the old style trough. What is the size of the hole and location--- in the picture in catalog it looks like it is just before the hump.

Got mine today and going to install it tomorrow. Will reserve judgement until then. It is possible to cut the hole into the old ones, I did it with a spare pan today. Used a sawsall and it zipped right thru it pretty easy, a little grinding to smooth the edges and its ready to go. Give me a few days to test it out and see what happens with a pin down the track.

Put one on yesterday and right off the bat it started throwing off the short belt. Minor belt adjustment and everything is o.k. I can see the pan "flex" a little bit as the ball passes over the hole, but dont know what to really make of it. I did trace the hole over another spare and cut it out with a sawsall, but a good jigsaw would work I guess. Have not tested the hole out with a pin to see what will really happen, going to wait till its slow in case something bad happens.

Scarey...if you see the pan flexing as the ball goes through...scarey. You know that means it will start cracking careful.

Maybe installing a Zot kit to raise the accelerator away from the trough would cut down on the flexing. Just an idea...
