  • rake rubber strip

I noticed that some of the rakes were rather noisey when sweeping all 10 pins off. The rubber strips are missing! I found several in the back room hanging up on the wall. What would you suggest on reattaching them to the rake boards? Rubber cement? I thought I would glue them back on and then use black nylon wire ties to hold them tight until the glue dries. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Re: rake rubber strip

Weldwood contact cement. Put cement on both mating surfaces and allow it to dry on both surfaces. Don't goop it on, just a thin layer. Drying time should be between 5 and 15 minutes. Once applied to each other, they will stick immediatley. You will not need to wire tye them on because the glue will already be dry. I leave the upper part that loops over the top of the rake board dry...it will stay on if the lower flat part is glued on to the back of the rake board. Hope this helps you...

Yep. That's the way to do it.
      Weldwood is the cat's meow.
