  • wasted cam-follower bearings

I am afraid of the truth/answer to this question. I keep blowing out the cam follower bearing on the clutch reset lever. I have replaced 3 now in 6 months on the same machine. I suspect that I've got a bent/bad cycle cam. I cannot visably see anything wrong with it, but there has to be an answer. The second time, I thought maybe I forgot to lube the bearing, so I lubed the crap out of it. Well, obviously that didn't do it. IF I have a bad 1-to-1, what other signs might I look for? Or how could that cycle cam get bent? I'm a new mechanic, been on the job since Thanksgiving, and knee deep in broken/worn old parts all over the place.
PBA member since 2001, laneman (Phoenix-S), pinsetter mechanic (A-2) and pro-shop (Innovate mill-drill plus) owner/operator. Hopefully I can eliminate two of those titles in the next year. Can you guess which ones?
