  • Lower ball wheel guard bracket

Here's a tip I would like to share. The lower ball wheel guard bracket has a tendency to break, leaving a stub on the stub on frame. Instead of taking elevator frame out or welding in place. (Insurance Co. frown on that). Take the broken bracket and weld a 3" piece of 1/4" steel strap on it, overlapping 1 1/2". Drill 1/8" pilot hole in center of outer part, line up over stub and drill through stub with 1/8" drill. Drill 7/16" hole in bracket. Drill 23/64" hole in stub and tap with 7/16-14 tap. Mount with 7/16-14x7/8" bolt (part no. 11-001423) lock washer. About 20 minutes to coplete. PJ

Good idea if you didnt want to go with a zot kit. Luckily I havent had too many of those break off.
