  • Short Link

I was wondering if any knows where I might find a few adjustable short links?

    Thanks

    Re: Short Link

I don't think there are any on the market now, but last time I needed one, my vise was happy to help out, just bend it slowly and be sure to keep it straight:

      Re: Short Link

      Hi Wags,
I built one not too long ago. I cut a section out of the middle and bought a turnbuckle to replace it with. I ran both ends of the link through a die and the screwed them together with the turnbuckle using jam nuts to secure it. It worked very well, the key would be to find a reversed thread die so you could adjust the short link on machine without having to pull one side off like I had too. It can be done fairly easily.

I wish I could find a set of reverse taps and dies. That would be really useful. Anyone know where they could be found?

You may want to try Ace Hardware. If they cannot order reverse taps and dies then the other option is a machine shop. Check Ace first and see what they say.
