I've got a good one for you guys. I have on machine that is notorious for throwing ball between the lift rods and cushion. i've shimmed the pit and elevator up and down too many times to count. What I have been over looking the entire time is that the gap between the pit frame and ball wheel is too big. I had always assumed that the gap couldn't change...right? I measured the machines on each side of my problem child. 14 and 16 were the same but 15 was different by 3/8". Now here's my question. What would be the best way to correct this? since there is no adjustment for this. i had a thought that perhaps the jogger arms were too short but 2 on the same lane both wrong by the same amount? Again ass-u-me-ing that the chances are slim to none.

As in any machine, there are tolerences built in. In your case, loosen the pit mounting bolts, pry pit to elevator and, while holding tension, tighten mount bolts. Do the same with the elevator mount bolts, only pry towards pit. Then correct elevator plumb adj. Usually this will take care of problem, just be certain to have ball clearance, when pit carpet plate is in rear position (achieved with washer spacing either under elevator or pit mount bolts.

If I'm not mistaking there Is a certain measurement from the 0 line of alley to the elevator assembly. It refers to the Installation of the subplates I think. I do not remember the measurement I would have to look In my notes.
