Did anyone see the ball call eliminator at the bowl expo?

Is it junk?

Re: Ball call eliminator

Didn't make the expo but for what it's worth my ball calls are just about ZERO!NO spinners no matter what amount of oil is on the ball(okay...within reason).
I use bungee cords attached to the cushion facing then onto the sbe's,think they are about 14 or 16 inch, when the cushion lifts so does the sbe then if the ball wants to spin, when the cushion goes back down the sbe get's placed onto the ball and off she goes!Even works when a lower left side(10 pin side)ball wheel guide roller get's worn down and the ball wheel tilts some(not that i would know ).I can take a photo and have someone post it here(me no speekin' da compooter lingo).Boss has been greatly impressed by the lack of ball calls especially since if any place is going to get a ball call it seems my place is it!Just remember to lower the sbe all they way so all the weight get's on the ball.Yes...i still clean the ball wheels even though i don't have to as much but a habit is a habit. Re: Ball call eliminator

Would like to see a pic Gearhead.

I designed the ballchaser, took me 8 years off and on perfecting it, got involved with the wrong people, they basically stole it from me, and renamed it the ball call eliminator and got the patent on it after they let my original patent application expire.

Their markup is attrocious at $575 which is what I think they want for it plus $20 or something for shipping. I was going to sell it at $349 but they are just greedy old men. Many of you probably saw my page at <a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"><a href="" target="_blank"></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a></a> which no longer exists.

Live and Learn! Just wish I would have made enough cash working in the pinsetter field to be able to afford to build a die and pay the attrocious costs of getting a patent. I have 15 years experience working on A's, Converted A2s and Factory A2s. I did get a BBA from a local college and worked nights on the pinsetters. Took me 5 years to do it. Funny thing is I still maintain a small 12 lane house. Love it after spending 8 years in a 56 lane center. This is the best forum on the whole world wide web. I have a lot of respect for pinsetter mechanics, because it seems no one else in the center usually has any for you guys that make the joint run.

Take Care,

Re: Ball call eliminator

I saw the ball call eliminator at Bowl Expo and looked like a great idea. I was wondering when someone would bring an idea like this to the market. I felt the $500++ per machine was a little expensive. Just for my 8-lane center that would be $4000+ plus my time to install. My only concern was possble ball damage from the metal piece spinning around on the ball wheel. The guys at the bowl expo both assured me that was not a problem. We have had the ZOT spinning ball eliminator in use for years along with the brunswick ball wheel material on the ball wheel and have very few ball return problems. If a ball doesn't come back it was usually caused by a pin being carried up the lift rods by a ball or a turret/pin-gate problem..I think the company that was selling the ball call eliminator has a web site were you can see the thing or get more info

I too saw it at the expo, in 25 years in the business that is probably one of the best new ideas I have seen, new balls old balls light or heavy, they all come back. Is it worth the price? I'm starting with a couple and going from there.
Just do it right the first time!

Re: Ball call eliminator

$500.00 PER MACHINE??WOW!Does it push the ball twords the liftrod?Heck...for $500.00 i'll sell you my bungee cords...LOL.I have yet to get a spinning ball call unless by some other problem.
All i did was adjust SBE,install cord and do other work and not chase spinners...YEA!!!
I'll get a photo and send to someone to post here, anyone offering their services for this??
I too have several solid ideas but need to get them copyrighted/protected,sucks when someone say's i like your idea then waits to take it later after time frame runs out.Protect yourselves as best as you can with paperwork, dates, names etc. Then you may be able to go after those who take your ideas.

Re: Ball call eliminator

The product shown at expo looks exactly like what was displayed awhile back on the ballchaser website.

If you get them, you better be sure all your rake shocks are in good shape, and stay that way ... a ball steaming into that big piece of metal ... WOULD be FUGLY:

FWIW, it looked like a 100% solution, but I would be looking at getting enough teflon tape to be sure those bare liftrods had no chance to scuff or mark the balls:
