    any one out there remember the proper procedure for charging a shock? I remember reading something a long time ago about inverting it, pulling it out, then turning it back over and depressing it... I just can't remember...

    You hold it upright and then pull out the plunger turn it over and depress to get the air out. You do this several times to pump it up. Then check it to see if you have any free play. If you have play then it is on it's last legs. If you do this procedure in reverse, you will pump all air and the shock won't have any resistance in it.
